Kimberly Aponte Borden

Kimberly Aponte Borden is a former prosecutor now specializing in plaintiff's personal injury, class action, and mass tort.  As an accomplished attorney with over 10 years of civil and criminal litigation experience, Ms. Borden has handle civil forfeiture actions, sex crimes, narcotics, and many other cases.  She is skilled in research, legal writing, pre-trial motions, settlement negotiation, litigating cases, post trial motions, trial briefs and appeals; and has extensive knowledge of both civil and criminal procedures. Her background includes more than 5,000 preliminary hearings and over 1,000 trials.

Ms. Borden attended Temple University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Summa Cum Laude in 1991. While at Temple, she was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society for her excellence in liberal arts. She then attended Boston University where she received her Juris Doctor Degree.

Ms. Borden joined Sheller, P.C. in 2006 after practicing commercial and construction litigation in Philadelphia for several years, where she served as a plaintiff’s counsel in the Tropicana Casino Garage Collapse Litigation. Her prior experience as an Assistant District Attorney in Philadelphia, PA included litigating to verdict over 1,000 felony, misdemeanor and civil drug forfeiture trials.  Ms. Borden now successfully litigates Sheller, P.C.'s Risperdal, Avandia and Levaquin cases, Toyota sudden unintended acceleration (SUA) wrongful death and consumer class action matters, and the firm's Live Stop civil rights class action litigation.

Ms. Borden has been recognized as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer in 2014, 2015 and 2016.  She is a member of the Justinian Society, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Pennsylvania Association for Justice.  As a devoted animal lover, Ms. Borden provides pro bono legal services to Green Street Rescue, a charitable organization devoted to saving and improving the lives of stray and homeless cats in Philadelphia.

Ms. Borden is admitted to the bars of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the State of New Jersey.
